Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is Solution Focused and Interactive

Sometimes we encounter events in our lives that we have difficulty accepting, overcoming or changing. Often we find ourselves repeating patterns that we know are not good for us. Other times, strong feelings of sadness, depression or anxiety occur for unknown reasons or have been part of our lives for as long as we can remember. Psychotherapy is an effective treatment for these and other issues. Sometimes alone and sometimes in combination with medication, psychotherapy is a vehicle of change.

I’m focused on helping you with the problems you are currently experiencing. As a therapist, I am active and engaged. I‘ll respond, react and offer you alternative ways of thinking and being.

My approach is based on evidence that our thoughts influence our feelings and our behaviors. By identifying and challenging the counterproductive thoughts and beliefs we hold about ourselves, our world, and others, we can change our behavior and improve our mood.

Because I’m also an experienced sex therapist, I’m able to help if sexual issues are already part of the problem, or in the case of medication, if sexual side effects occur.

Issues frequently addressed in my practice include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Intimacy/Relationship Difficulties
  • Work Stress
